About Us
Porpoise Bay Minerals Ltd. was founded in 2007 by the late Rupert Seel, noted prospector and surveyor, to undertake the exploration and commercialization of various resource properties located in the Central British Columbia.
For almost 70 years, Rupert was involved in the exploration and development of Central BC. In recent years, he spent much of his "retirement" time investigating the mineralization of several properties that he has "noticed" over the past decades.
Porpoise Bay controls resource properties in Central British Columbia that show promising results for large scale magnesium production as well as smaller scale gold, copper and nickel. Further details on our exploration activities is available "here".
The company’s properties are within 40 km of Highway 16 and the Canadian National Railway line to deep sea ports on the West Coast of British Columbia.
We are a private company with an interest in identifying technical expertise in Mg use and production processes.
We welcome expressions of interest from parties interested in acquiring one or more of our properties and working as a joint venture. While going public may be an option, being acquired by a major mining company remains our primary objective.

Our Properties
Hoof & Porpoise Properties
The Hoof & Porpoise Properties comprise tenures covering almost 6,610 hectares, located about 20 km south east of Vanderhoof, in an area known as Sinkut Mountain.
The tenures are good to 2022 and 2023.
An initial drilling programme in 2009 produced results including weighted average Magnesium (Mg) up to 26.2% and anomalous Nickel (Ni) in the range of 0.25% over an extended range.
An international engineering firm has determined that extraction of magnesium is feasible using existing, proven technology.
Geological mapping was also carried out in 2009 on the centre / largest of the three hills, with the results of Mg 24% and Ni 0.23%.
We estimate the property has the potential to be a very large tonnage mineable deposit, possibly in excess of 500 million tonnes.
